Fishing conditions are up and down, we are all looking for rain or at least rain clouds to kick of a hatch. The days that have had some rain or heavy cloud cover have produced large numbers of fish rising. Lots of insect activity with slow response from the fish. Nymphing still the best solution on the days with clear bright blue skies. Look for shaded pools and you can get in some dry fly action, but use great stealth. If your daring try a little night fishing. The fish are spooky at best. Great conditions for hiking and backpacking into the higher lakes.
Warning: Fire risk is high please check with Forestry service for permitted fire areas. Most areas have fire restrictions.
Working Flies: #8 Bi-Color San Juan Worm, #12 Red San Juan Worm, #10 Red Tiger Worm, and #4 - #12 Stone Patterns
